Unlike CRTs the LCD persistance is very long. To get a non-flickering screen you don't need 100Hz rates.
-> My big concern is the warranty. People are just now waking up to the fact that a dead LCD screen may cost more to repair than to buy a new one out of warranty.

i was checking out the dell 24" widescreen and they suggest the nvidia6800 card.
i don't have a 6800, i have an 5700 ultra. are monitor/card compatabilities an issue to be considered? aside for the support of higher resolutions,,,will a monitor simply NO WORK on an earlier card,,,like not enough ram or speed or something?
refresh rates are supported,,,in fact i think the refresh rate on the dell is something like 60hz, which seems very low.
