Thin&Light Recommendations

Jan 27, 2005 12:51AM PST

I'd really appreciate any recommendations about a good thin&light notebook. Assume money is no matter. Willing to sacrifice screen size for light weight (but 14.1" minimum screen). Need the usual: Wi-Fi (b/g), good RAM, minimum 60GB HD, Windows XP. Any suggestions??

Since money is not...

Then the Sony is back on the list. While I don't bother with them due to no support, with money ready one can buy a second one if the first has an issue.

I had an early Vaio and didnt care for all the junk Sony put on it and lack of support; also had many troubles with the keyboard and case warping. Are they better now?

New seems OK, but..

Since money was not an object, they do have some of the thinnest, lightest out there. If you remove them, then have you seen the IBM X40?

Again, I worry about them in a few years, but their support up to now has been good. Be sure to consider the larger battery.
