Expanding, Contracting.

Don't care much which it is doing, as long as we don't bump into anything along the way.

Gawd, I'll never understand the theories...
May 31, 2007 12:10AM PDT

I've heard, read, viewed various ides on the origin of the universe and how it got started, and all that. However, some got to a point in their explanation to where they're with a sec. or less of the actual "big bang" and can't pin-point what caused it to happen. Others suggested, it was a rebound, that the universe then contracted so hard it "re-banged" and started over again. In other words more than one universe cycles. Others suggested the universe after the big-bang is ever expanding where it should be slowing down. Thus, the dark matter theory. Others have suggested there are at least 10 or 11 parallel universes that allow "unified theory" to explain itself. All in all a heck of alot thinking going on and usually sparked by some new nugget of wisdom. It's too bad, i don't understand the math behind all this but it sure leaves some doubt to the common man. dimwit -----Willy

On the other hand.....
May 31, 2007 2:14AM PDT

.......... much has been learned in my lifetime. Going to the moon was Buck Rogers stuff.

I recall the awe I felt when I saw my first photo of a nova in living color. And how amazing black holes are. That stars can collapse. That comet tails are mostly ice. The Hubbell telescope opened new vistas. ( Years ago I thought that Mt.Polomar could see all that was worth seeing.) The Mars Rover.

Small steps leading to bigger ones. Answers found leading to more questions.
I suspect it will be many, many more years before we know the answers to yours (and mine).

of universes. But we will never know, because it's an unknowable thing.
