TheBigSwitch....What is this?

Feb 20, 2006 8:03AM PST

I was found this website on the Google search engine. http://www.thebigswitch.net.

They way I read it, I can buy products on the site and they will randomly trade out the product I purchased with a product of significanly more value.

Am I reading this right?

ugh

1. Buy Today?s Special at a great price.
2. At the end of the day (Midnight EST), come back to the website to see if today is a BigSwitch Day.
3. If today is a BigSwitch Day, we might send you TheBigSwitch Product *in the addition to product* you originally purchased. Check your email after Midnight EST to see if you were Switched!

Look at #3. at least they could copy edit their FRONT PAGE. I wouldn't trust it.

It's a cool idea

It is a unique spin on things. I'm going to follow it for a while.

If anyone buys somethings and they get Switched, please post it here. I'll be interested to see what happens.

Also curious . . .

I have been trying to figure out what is going on with this site too.

I agree it seems like a novel idea. I am interested to see if anyone has purchased from them and more interested to hear from someone who got the ''bigger better'' product.

I think i am going to see if they have a better product tomorrow. If so I am going to try it out. I'll report back.

Rule of thumb...

If it sounds too good to be true; it typically is.

Agreed

I'd never trust something like that. Plus if I order something I already know what I want and than I buy that. This is just silly.

Highly suspicious. Everyone in this thread but Veronica and Scott started their membership today and then started raving about this shady site nobody has ever heard of before.

I agree Tom

This screams "suspicious" to me. After reading the FAQ, I saw something interesting ...

How many people will be ?Switched? on a particular ?BigSwitch Day??

The number of people that will be ?Switched? on a particular ?BigSwitch Day? is dependent upon the number of ?TheBigSwitch? products available on that day.

Who's to say that they don't only have 1 Big Switch item? They'd still be fufilling their agreement that someone would get a Big Switch.

I also didn't like the fact that you never know when it will occur. It could be once a month for all we know, and nobody could complain about it.

I'm running far, far away from this one.
