DJ vs. Zen Micro
Dec 23, 2004 11:15AM PST

Dear Mr. e_smitson,
I have read up on both of these items for the past weeks also confronting the same question. Now, I am pretty well equipted on this subject, and I would have to go with the Dell Pocket DJ. Besides looking more attractive, It has everything you need, thus being cheaper adding onto it. The FM Tuner and Microphone that people say is better, acually is unnessesary in an MP3. Also, the bad part about the Zen Micro is the touch-sensitive cursor. It is very difficult and sometimes frusterating at times. Well I hope this helps make your decision a little easier.

Respectfully Submitted, Michael F.

Just out of curiousity, have you used a Zen before?
Or In that case, a Dell?

Handled Both
Dec 23, 2004 11:25AM PST

Yes, I have handled a Dell DJ Explorer and a Creative Zen Micro. Both have good functions but the Dell's performance is very good. If it was not between these two MP3 Players I would advise the IRiverH320 Series. Its capabilities is twice as good as any of the Dell's or Zen's. But you were intrested in cost, or I would say go for the IRiverH Series.

Toss up
Dec 23, 2004 12:01PM PST

e_smitson, i have had a chance to toy around with both products, and i would have to say that it is a toss-up. both items are equally good. The zen has a touch pad, so if you are capable of using one easily, that might come on handy more. Also, the Dell Pocket DJ has a "scroll Button" on it, which may act as a more useful search option. Also, the Zen has a Microphone that i have heard is top of the line, so if that is what you're into, go with that. But I fell that it is a toss-up between the the two.
