The Truth and other extraneous subjects. . .

I have no claim on the truth, but I find it in the oddest places. . . even in the intents of those who would claim it as their deserved tool.

Truth: There is no shortage of persons who do create malicious code. They cast it to the web to gain their brand of 'cred' and fame.

Truth: You need an AntiVirus suite to protect yourself regardless of the origin or intent.

So, the debate is quite pointless. Arm yourself with proactivity. I'm thinking of switching from McAfee to Panda with Tru-Prevent (no need to have the definition of the virus to block it). If it looks like a duck... It uses a Heuristic checking similarity of known infectious code instead of an A:B comparison in conjuction with definitons of known code.
