Don't know what to say about this site, but. . .

http://www.whitehousetapes.org/

Quite enlightening. Especially the ones on the front page. John Kerry is mentioned.

John Kerry's ***. But how has Paul O'Neill made a living all these years, or does character assassination pay that well.

You can spin that various ways ....
by Bill Osler / December 31, 2004 7:58 PM PST

If you believe Kerry was acting honorably (I don't) then you can spin it as an example of a conspiracy. If you believe Kerry was acting dishonorably then you can spin it as an early recognition of his character problems.

I don't see that it sheds much light either way.

BTW: I don't know enough about Paul O'Neill to comment on your attempt at a character slur. That kind of comment undermines your credibility as an historian.

John O'Neill (not Paul)
by EdH / January 1, 2005 12:10 AM PST

Was/is a successful lawyer. Lawyers make good money.

Without revisiting the Swiftboat controversey, I have to point out, for what seems to be the millionth time, that it is permitted in this country to defend yourself against attacks. Kerry attacked, O'Neill was part of the response. No way you can characterize that as "being after Kerry's ***".

As far as whether it was character assassination, I suggest that Kerry did plenty of that himself, yet was given a pass by liberals.

Anyway, guess what? Bush won! Kerry is a footnote. Get over it.

up Kerry 30 years ago. Subsequent events have proven them correct.
