The Students are coming

Mar 25, 2018 7:21AM PDT

I've been asking for years , Where are the students ?
I was born in 1955 and watched all of the race riots, rallies about stopping the Vietnam war , King shot , more marches, Kennedy's shot , more marches .The SDS marches here in Chi and the Dem Nat. Convention in 69 (?)
Tin soldiers and Nixon's coming , Kent State students shot ,4 dead in Ohio...

My point is it seems after the sixties , early seventy's I really haven't seen the students so involved in a movement like yesterday's March for Life  and am So Proud of these students for getting back in the mix and trying to protect their future .
I'm sorry for the reasons they have to march but Now ,
Watch Out Washington and the NRA !
The Student's Are Coming and They're Pissed OFF ! Go Get'em Kids!

Fewer buying guns since Trump was elected. They feel safer with him in office.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/03/25/gun-maker-remington-files-for-bankruptcy.html

"The Journal reported that the gun industry is facing low demand and high stock after Donald Trump's unexpected election to the presidency in 2016. According to the paper, firearms manufacturers boosted output in the run-up to the election, expecting that a Hillary Clinton victory would lead to a boost in sales ahead of tighter gun laws.

Firearms manufacturer Remington Outdoor Company has filed for bankruptcy protection in the face of falling sales and lawsuits stemming from the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, the Wall Street Journal reported Sunday night."

Safer?.....no

Gun owners thought it was less likely that Trump would put restrictions on guns so no need to rush out and buy one.

As for Remington they rolled the dice and lost.

(NT) Remington has been fighting other lawsuits as well.

IF the liberal media would cover that rally and others
Mar 26, 2018 6:30AM PDT

fairly, you would have seen Conservatives going to those SAME students and asking them 'what do you consider an assault weapon it?'...........NOT ONE knew the answer. They were marching for an agenda they knew NOTHING about.

You insult my empathy for the kids, its......of COURSE they were hurting and want something done, but gun control is a LIBERAL, DEM agenda.....THEY want SCHOOL SAFETY......and the rallies had NOTHING to do with THAT agenda, and you know it. They were ALL being used by activists, celebrities, liberal politicians and liberal PACS just as the Women's March excluded pro-life WOMEN from also marching. If you aren't 'with them', you are 'against them'......

The kids had/have ONE agenda.......being safe in school.........the liberals have THEIR own and they are in immediate action mode when they can USE a crisis to their advantage.....just as Rahm Emanuel said at the beginning of BO's terms. Every time a shooting occurs, liberals scream for gun control and immediately start with the 'assault weapon' crap.....but did they come out in droves with that battle cry when HANDGUNS are used like at VA TECH?

I noticed that you never mentioned the complete failure at the SCHOOL administration level that could have stopped all of this long before it happened........He was expelled rather than arrested, which would have given him a record AND it was ignored when it was suggested that he be hospitalized for mental evals, BOTH of which would have DENIED him the ability to buy that weapon OR ANY OTHER GUN.

What was the engine
Mar 26, 2018 7:04AM PDT

that drove the kids to riot in the 60's .
I don't think it was Dems or Rep.
I Think everyone truly wanted to get out of Vietnam .
I think the African Americans and Women truly wanted Equal Rights !
What side had the Brits standing outside of the American embassy in protest of the gun laws here ?

It was very generous of the person that paid to fly, bus, etc. to get all of those kids to Washington, and the other cities involved

A couple of comments from one who lived then
Mar 26, 2018 8:17AM PDT

and was in college but struggling. What I saw was young people who'd never had jobs and had spent their whole life in school or with their parents but were now being inducted into the armed services and called unpatriotic if they were reluctant to go. These kids were too young to have experienced the freedoms the USA offered yet they were asked to go into harms way to defend it. Frankly, it was scary. As well, one's value was being challenged. If you were smart enough and financially able to go to college, you could be deferred from being drafted and had a better chance of your life being spared. If otherwise, you were more expendable...or so it could seem. Since African-American boys tended to fall into this group, they were more vulnerable but, from what I saw, it wasn't they who were doing most of the rioting. It was the college kids who were able to organize the largest group tantrums. To be fair, however, even back then the colleges and universities were known as liberal indoctrination centers that were supporting the anti-war candidates of the time. I don't thing Barry Goldwater was on their wish list for commencement speakers.

In any event, I found myself torn between the two sides. I had no desire to go into the jungle and fight anyone but I also had no desire to link arms with protesters whom I saw as exhibiting terrible behavior. There were many teachable moments to be experienced during the time.

Btdt......I had no desire to go into the service but I had no choice.

My parents were not wealthy enough to shield me from this pol induced conflict.

As it turned out it open up a whole new career path for me.

That seemed to work well as I retired at 48.

Though I was in the upper 10% in my High School, I found myself not suited for what was offered in the university. I was enrolled at Ohio State and just floundering trying to find something of interest. My passion at the time was electronics. Eventually, OSU didn't want me around but the US Army did do I enlisted in the USAF where I received training in crypto and other electronic communications equipment. I became, if I may say so myself, a very good troubleshooter and I carried that skill into a civilian career. I retired in 2011 when the company for which I was working was bought out and they were trimming people from the payroll by offering voluntary layoff packages. I took one and never looked back. I'd had some medical issues and injuries of late and didn't want to be crippled or dead by normal retirement age. It was a good move.

And yet
Mar 26, 2018 9:34AM PDT

NO liberal DEMS or groups were rallying or marching for THEM, were they? NONE were visible when that a$$wipe killed all those church members, were they? NONE were visible in Las Vegas, were they? Why THIS school at THIS time? Because ELECTIONS are happening soon.....they decided that THIS is the fight to have and are using them all for this particular time. "Never let a good crisis go to waste"....Rahm Emanuel. They don't give a crap about the kids.....wake up.

I find it interesting in it's honest use of 'we don't know' throughout.
The Benj. Winegard quote is key, I think. Needed is a government that can read the hearts of its citizens.
And, who knew that venerable John Wiley & Sons had a Handbook just for mass shootings?
