1. Please note that just above the text editor (where you enter a question on the forum) is the following paragraph, and if certain information is not present in your question, our reply may not be very helpful but simply Gateway doesn't tell anything.:
Tip: If you are asking for help to troubleshoot a computer-related problem, please be sure to include all the necessary information (ie: operating system, model number, hardware, software, etc) that will help others identify your problem for a speedy resolution.
2. You describe a sound, but not when it happens. What is open, what are you doing at the time, what sound events are scheduled to occur in the Control Panel and does any of them produce the sound heard -- if so, what is the name of the .WAV file and what event?
3. Sorry about your calendar loss but don't use nor ever had one.
The only answer Gateway tech support has for a problem is to reformat the hard drive. (Twice they've insisted I do that, and neither time did it fix the problem.) After the last reformat I started hearing the sound of a marble being dropped into a toilet, and I'm not even sure what actions cause it. I tried Help, and of course it didn't.
Also, months before the reformat a little calendar page with the date on it appeared on the lower right icon tray. I don't know how it got there, but I came to like it. Of course, after the reformat it was gone. How can I shut off the plop sound and get my calendar page back?
