The Saga Continues

by Radio2006 / October 8, 2009 9:23 AM PDT

Okay, so I just installed a new power supply for my home built PC and also a XFX ATI Radeon HD 4770. Other computer specs are as follows:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+
XFX nForce 750a SLI Motherboard
XFX Radeon HD 4770 Video Card (Just Installed)
OCZ GameXStream 700-Watt Power Supply (Just Installed)
Patriot 4096MB PC6400 DDR2-RAM
Windows XP Professional Edition SP3

So everything is connected properly, its just that when I start up the PC it takes a little longer for the Bios startup before the XP loading screen. Once it gets there all startup functions seem to stop. However, I have successfully came up in Safe Mode.

When I installed the new power supply all the hard drives were disconnected and replaced. I think that installed all the SATA ports back to their original hard drives, but not 100% sure about that nor about if it matters. I hope I didn't forget any other info. I think I covered all the basic troubleshooting steps...any assistance is appreciated.

The motherboard display reads 61, which from my code list, indicates normal operation. So yeah.

Try a different slot for the memory stick

The Samsung RF23M8090SG

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
