Hi, Ed (or anyone else).

Any idea why when I click on .wmv links, I see the contents of the file? If I save the link targe to my hard drive and right-click "open" it'll open with real player. Any idea what setting might be farkled (I'm using Netscape...) I'll post this in the Browsers forum, as well...

Using Opera, WMP popped up, said it couldn't play it and I got the following message:
Mar 7, 2004 1:33PM PST

"0xC00D1198: Cannot connect to the server
Windows Media Player cannot connect to the server hosting the content you want to play. You may encounter this error message for one of the following reasons:

The name of the server hosting the content is not valid. If you typed a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) address in the Open URL dialog box, ensure that the file name is spelled correctly and the path to the file is correct, and then try again. If you clicked a link on a Web page, the link may not be valid.
The server is busy and is not accepting new connections. Try to connect to the server at a later time. The proxy server settings for Windows Media Player are not configured properly. Verify that your proxy server settings are correct. "

Earlier, when I clicked on the link I got a screen full of numbers and symbols, squares and ????? for both Opera and Netscape. Is that what you mean by content?

Using IE, first I got an offer from WMP to download but it decided not to after all. Trying again DAP popped up to download and it was successful. I clicked on the download and WMP played it without a problem. I must admit this was one the weirdest downloads I've ever experienced. The movie is cute as all get out.

Generally it is a Browser configuration problem...

when it opens that way or gives any error message.

You will have to look through your settings--Netscape has always been a little strange with media files.
