The Queen puts a hand around Michelle Obama's waist

by Ziks511 / April 2, 2009 1:19 PM PDT

remarking upon how tall the First Lady is. Michelle Obama hugged the Queen briefly and they spoke briefly. The Daily Mail (Remember Lord Rothermere, Britain First, all that stuff) reported accurately and respectfully. It did not join the chorus of some tabloids over and act of lese majeste, that's and accent grave [down ramp] on the first e, an accent aigu [an up ramp] over the second e, and second one of those over the last e of Majeste). This is supposed to be an act of mild disrespect toward the Monarch, but since it was mutual and initiated by the Queen it seems that the Obama magic works across the pond as well. Fortunately neither Buck House (Buckingham Palace) nor any of the Queen's entourage took umbrage at the gesture.

Michelle Obama addressed an assembly in a school in London which are incredibly diverse in their student bodies. Having addressed the students, then the hugging began, and the girls went very emotional. It was really quite sweet. It certainly demonstrates what the upper areas of charisma can achieve.

Obama himself seems to have made a solid impression on the G20, not least because he spent much of his time listening, as he said he would. International opinion seems to have ticked upwards slightly.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
