Answer
the pros and cons of jailbreak on ipad mini 3...

I've had my iPod touch 3 jailbroken for over three years, my iPad third generation jailbroken about three years. I don't believe jailbreaking my Apple devices did me much good. I couldn't get any help on how to interpret and use the Cydia ifile ap. To get help and participate in their help forums, one has to navigate back into the Cydia website, and I found no bookmarks nor email alerts for participation. Cydia has been preoccupied with their Springboard, which is simply decorative alteration of the home screen. This takes up memory with little improvement to use of the iPad. I recall some announcement on the Cydia homepage that they had programs that would run in the background. Anybody with MS computer know how antivirus programs in the background slow down a PC to crawling. My impression is Cydia takes memory, slows the device, and is difficult getting support when there is problem with their apps. Apple is elitest, Cydia thinks they're elitist ("jailbreak", whoa!) I don't believe Cydia people have made much difference.
My opinion, don't bother with jailbreaking your apple device. I wouldn't recommend investing too much on Apple Apps as you may want to get an Android or Microsoft device, later on.
See what other people here say, and maybe at other forums.
