The Olympus SP 500 UZ or the C770

If anyone could offer some advice as to which camera is the better buy, I would appreciate it. I plan on taking pictures of my son's sporting events and read that the C770 is a better sport photography camera, but I noticed that the shutter speed is the same for both cameras. Since the SP500 has 2 more megapixels, I was leaning toward that camera, but wondered if the SP500 was not good at sport photography.

Any advice would be very helpful.

You really have to look at three cameras:

The C-765 is the C-770 without the Remote control and without the hotshoe.

So the SP500 is more like the C-765 in features.

The SP500 uses the same lens assembly as the other two cameras. And apparently, it uses the same engine.

It adds a few improvements; such as the larger LCD, 6 megapixels, and RAW instead of TIFF.

And it changes from Lithium batteries to AA batteries.

As far as performance, I would expect it to be the same as the C765 and C770.

I have not found a review of the SP500.
The reason may be, that it is so similar to the C765/C770
