The New AdAware 2007

by shylaugh / June 7, 2007 7:53 AM PDT

After installing the new AdAware and doing a scan it came up with Root: HKU Path S-1-5-21-160446659-598829 if I delete it and scan again it comes back. I don't even know what that is but none of my other software, AVG (ewido), Spybot found nothing. I don't know what info I should post with this as this is new to me. Did it download with AdAware as I have not downloaded anything and scan for virus or spyware before I open. Hope I have made myself clean and given you the info I need to give you and hope this is the right forum etc. Thank you in advance. I now have it in quarantine as it won't delete. Sandra

A bell goes off in my head, when I read anything similar to what you wrote, when you said, 'I now have it in quarantine as it won't delete.' The statement led me to believe, you tried to delete it and weren't able to. I may be wrong. Might I stress, when you do detect something, such as this, that you keep it in quarantine, until such time you do some further research? You did so, by posting here. There's no harm in keeping it in quarantine. There's always the possibility, of it being a false positive. It usually doesn't take more than a day or two to find out.

Anyway.. all is well. I'm glad I was able to be of help..
