Question

The "light" is slowly coming on?

Aug 22, 2017 6:18AM PDT
My original instinct was to pull out. And historically, I like following my instincts.

But all my life I’ve heard that decisions are much different when you sit behind the desk in the Oval Office, in other words, when you’re president of the United States.

Someday, after an effective military effort, perhaps it will be possible to have a political settlement that includes elements of the Taliban in Afghanistan.

But we will no longer use American military might to construct democracies in faraway lands or try to rebuild other countries in our own image.

Settlement INCLUDING Taliban?

AFTER an "effective military effort"......
NO LONGER USE American military might?

Quit trying to nation build in other places. Kick butt, leave, let them finish the fighting among themselves. If one wanted to punish the Muslim world, then leaving them in ISIS hands would certainly do it. They'd also rebel eventually and win their own freedom, likely leaving the scourge of Islam behind them.

Because I have to ask...
Aug 22, 2017 10:51AM PDT

JP, I don't know you, so I must ask: have you ever had an initial instinct about a decision that you were about to make? Perhaps a foundational belief in something or a method in which something should be accomplished?

Now, let me ask you this: have you ever sat down with an expert in the field regarding your preliminary assumptions and had a "light" go off above your head because they enlightened you or helped change your mind on your inceptive thoughts that ended up proving that you were actually wrong in your way of thinking?

Would you prefer the President just "stick to his guns" rather than flex to meet some form of common ground, even if it's wrong and/or could lead to loss of life or a waste of taxpayer dollars?

Me? I prefer a leader who is willing to admit when they are wrong and course-correct accordingly rather than a rogue who is unwilling to listen to solid, experienced counsel. We already had one of those and he cost us about $10,000,000,000,000 dollars.

have you ever had an initial instinct about a decision that you were about to make?

Yes

have you ever sat down with an expert in the field regarding your preliminary assumptions

I have never sat down with ANY "expert" in ANY field...most of the decisions I make don't have "experts"

Would you prefer the President just "stick to his guns" rather than flex to meet some form of common ground, even if it's wrong and/or could lead to loss of life or a waste of taxpayer dollars?

I would prefer the president stop tweeting....then me and everyone else wouldn't know "what guns he is sticking to".....most of his tweets end up being more confusing/lies than factual.

I'm watching TheRUMP right now...flapping his gums from Arizona...... ON CNN....He just said CNN has stopped broadcasting his speech....How come I'm still watching him on CNN? Because he's LYING?

He just said it was 115 degrees today and he was "out signing autographs for an hour and a half today"...and "if you can do that you''re in great shape".

Yeah right, 90 minutes signing autographs?

Do YOU think HE is in "great shape"?

But, I'll keep reading his tweets, watching him flap his gums....because it's a great time waster/background noise.

I'll be a little sad to see him go....But not THAT sad.

Interesting statement:
Aug 23, 2017 2:06AM PDT

"I have never sat down with ANY "expert" in ANY field...most of the decisions I make don't have "experts""

And yet you depend on the rag media you watch for their 'expert' OPINIONS that aren't based on FACTS but on their AGENDAS instead, which gives you the 'information' you desire for making your 'decisions' and take that 'information' and spew it as FACT like a parrot.

How many "experts" have YOU sat down with?

"Never sat down with ANY 'expert' in ANY field...most of the decisions that I make don't have 'experts'"

Not a very humble fella, are you? So you're saying that you've NEVER spoken to somebody who ACTUALLY knows about and has experience with something that you're simply guessing at and your guess been proven wrong? Speakeasy, I believe that we may have just witnessed the second coming of Christ!

Then again, there's the HUGE difference between you and the President of the United States, JP. POTUS DOES have experts in their fields that advise him. When he's wrong, they educate him and he changes course. Knowing your limitations and exploiting the knowledge and expertise of the people in all fields who surround you and coming to an informed decision is called LEADERSHIP.

Our President could come out on the television and say "I love America and the vast diversity her people offer. We are a country that, together, really can accomplish ANYTHING." and CNN would have something negative to say about the man. I've never seen a President so scrutinized - not even Obama when he and his one-way, liberal Congress jammed the now FAILING "Affordable" Care Act down the people's throats at the tune of an approximate 75% disapproval rating...and against the caution/warning of lead economists telling them that his legislation was going to be the train wreck it has become.

You want to talk about how often President Trump "lies"? How about "If you want to keep your doctor, you can keep your doctor."? Or "Not one person across the country will see an increase in their premiums. In fact, this legislation will force premiums down by bringing more payers into the health care system."? Remember when Obama said that Hillary Clinton was the least qualified person in politics to run for President and would say or do ANYTHING to get elected...then turned around and said she was the "most qualified" person for the job???

I could go on forever, my friend.

Actually I am....I make decisions on such things as ....

When I go for my walk should I go out the door and turn right OR left?

I suppose some would need an "expert" to help them make up their mind.but not me.. I'm a rebel....but not a southern rebel.

When I was "working" the question that many asked was

Should I walk OR take my lunch? Neither of which have anything to do with each other.

Asked in jest of course.

YOU do have a sense of humour don't you?...Unlike Toni.

I could go on forever, my friend.

I've been here a tad longer than you (at least since 2003) so keep on truckin'

This Radar Tech will on side would that make me and Romeo Tango?

THEN you go on to talk about how you claim Obama lied?

They're ALL the same?...Even Trump?

I thought Trump supporters wanted 'change"....they won't say he's "changing anything" their argument is...HEY!...the other guy did the same thing.

DUH!!!!!!

Stick with supporters of TheRUMP...she'll take you places you don't want to be.

Then the NON expert makes the decision?

What do you need "experts" for?

TheRUMP has been "bankrupt" more times than me....Want financial advice?....Come and see me.

Speaking of "experts"
Aug 24, 2017 1:26PM PDT

Just watching Judge Judy....the plaintiff had an "expert" that Judge Judy said was coming across as an "advocate".

"expert"....a person who has a comprehensive and authoritative knowledge of or skill in a particular area.

"advocate"....a person who publicly supports or recommends a particular cause or policy.

When he's wrong, they educate him and he changes course

He does?

And exactly how many people have to tell him he's wrong?

Does HE admit it?

Does HE deny that he is wrong?

Does he ADMIT what he said?

So many questions...so few answers.
