Oh sheesh!

And after seeing The Two Johns getting extremely touchy-feely with each other, this line following doesn't sound too good either: "And we will end the backdoor draft..."

Sorta, but he corrected himself immediately

We will double our Special Forces to conduct terrorist operations, anti-terrorist operations, and we will provide our troops with the newest weapons and technology to save their lives and win the battle.

Bush, on the other hand, has yet to retract his statement that he wants to harm America.

Or that he's a West Texas girl!

Just joshing, Josh.

I wasn't trying to be completely serious, since, you're right, it's not a perfect apples to apples comparison. My post was intended as a parody or persiflage to point out that we all mis-speak on occasion, and what's good for the bush is good for the catsup, right?

Incidentally, you may be interested (or appalled) to know that your posts are one of the very few reasons I still browse this forum, because your views usually differ from mine and you express those views in a clear and reasonable manner.

I have to agree with you. If there is a lot material unread I will only read Josh's and Dan's posts. Maybe two or three others.

Hi, Mark.

The key difference is that Lerry realized he'd made a (rare) verbal mistake and immediately corrected it -- yes, we all misspeak on occasion. But Bush never seems to realize or correct his mistakes -- and we're not just talking speaking. Surely you remember that ridiculous answer in a press conference when he was asked which policy mistake as president he'd most like to correct in retrospect, and he replied that he honestly couldn't recall making any? "Those who repeat history are doomed to repeat it" obviously has no truck with him. I'd say we face the same if we re-elect him, except we never really elected him in the first place!

you mean when he isn't "-did-didn't-did-didn't-did" ot "-'tis-'tisn't-'tis'-tisn't-'tis" or "-is-not-is-not-is" with Evie?

Don't worry, I knew you were just having a bit of fun. If Kerry truly does gaffe a-la Bush, I'd laugh along with everyone.

And thanks for the compliment. It's nice to see you posting again. Though we often disagree, you stick to the point, remain civil during debates and don't blow smoke as an alternative to just not saying anything.

Good to see you around here again!

I saw Broken Arrow posted in Feedback the other day. Mustt be Old Home Week!

I got a chuckle from your post. (You'll note that some will not appreciate the humor.) Happy

Aloha!
