The Holiday Season

Feb 13, 2009 7:05AM PST

Firstly I think Natali is doing a great job. Great to hear Molly's improptu visit on Thursday's podcast though. Hmm maybe both Natali and Molly should do their own podcast together....**dream**.. anyway I digress.

I live in the UK and we don't have Thanksgiving so I may be out of turn here, but WHY oh WHY do you use the phrase "Holiday Season"?

Here in the UK, we've becoming so politically correct recently that certain radio stations etc are not aloud to use the word "Christmas" as it would be insulting to other ethnic minorities.

Please tell me that you've always used this phrase and that the land of freedom is not giving in to the PC (as in political correctness - I'm not a Mac Fanboy!) brigade.

Steve.

I say Happy Holidays

I would much rather say Happy Santa Claus Day since I am not religious. I have used it on occasion only to be given the look of eternal damnation and asked if I knew my who my savior is. So Happy Holidays it is!

...there is more then one holiday to buy gifts for around that time of year. It's called being inclusive. It has been called the holiday shopping season for as long as I can remember.
