You haven't given us much information about your computer or the version of Norton that you had installed, but the manual uninstall instructions from the Norton links below should help you get it cleaned off the system:
How to uninstall Norton AntiVirus 2000/2001/2002/2003 (Use the RNAV2000.exe removal tool to clean things off.)
How to completely remove Norton AntiVirus 2004 and then reinstall the program
Here's the registry keys that our setup checks for. Make sure they're gone.:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition for Windows 7.0
Hope this helps.
My little brother deleted my norton anti-virus software without using un-install. Now I can't install my new norton because it detects (The Ghost) the other norton. After which I went to add/remove programs to bust the ghost and it won't delete it with uninstall because it says there is no log info on the first norton being installed, yet it's still there but in noway operating.I don't have origenal norton software, only new one which like I said won't work. HELP ME PLEASE!
