Seeing oddities as well

When posting, the tracking box is checked by default. I can uncheck it but it comes back if I preview the post. I don't track anything but "my tracked discussions" shows 11 empty ones. If I uncheck all and try to remove them, I get an error message of some sort. I'm not getting any email alerts so either the forums have an issue or I'm an outcast. Happy

Well, now I'm getting email alerts

and have not asked for tracking on any discussion. As well, Cnet no longer automatically remembers me. This, too, shall pass...I hope.

Very strange

Maybe this is how tracked discussion work but I just did a test message in another forum. I made a reply to my own message and, a bit later, got an email alert with the title of my own message. This means one gets an alert if they, themselves, post to a tracked discussion. The problem is, I didn't check the box to track the thread. It was pre-checked and refused to go away. When I check my tracked discussions, I'm showing 11...all of which are empty. But I didn't actively select any to be tracked. If I try to check any of them and unsubscribe, I get an error saying there's a problem and to try again later. I'll just presume it's one of those things and they are being looked into.

Ya know

You're right about not about remembering . Every time I go to My Tracked Discussions , I have to log in even though I check the remember me box but if I go to my profile I don't have to log in .
Now, If I am in my profile and am already logged in , and go to my tracked discussions I have to log in again .
Is that what you mean ?
Also, the e-mail notification WAS from my own post in this thread called Hmm

The need to re-login is additional to the rest

That's not my concern. I don't want email alerts so I don't check the box to track a thread. Even if I did, I see no reason that my own posts should generate an email alert. That might be useful when I become more forgetful, however. It's nice for one to know what they've said. Happy

Add me to the list. I think the last update hosed the forum

I've noticed how many links a note has to go through when making a post. It must be at least 6 or 8. This is no way to run a railroad. What this forum needs is its own server(s) limited to no more than 2 instead of the current kludge. This is just one more example of how CBS has managed to screw things up here and in download.com. Sad

sorry I'm late to the party

Looks like there were some CNET site issues (not just the forums) yesterday. Should be better. Please let me know if this isn't the case.

Again apologizes for the late response.
