The Foreign Leader who supports John Kerry.

Mar 16, 2004 11:19PM PST

His wife.

http://www.borowitzreport.com/report.asp?rec=821

Under pressure to identify the ?foreign leaders? he claims support him in his bid to oust President Bush, Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass) today named his wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry.

?Teresa was born in Mozambique and is fluent in five languages,? Mr. Kerry told reporters onboard his campaign jet. ?You don?t get more foreign than that.?

Just a standard tongue in cheek rebuttal I'd say but for
Mar 17, 2004 2:25AM PST

then it esculates. Powel says his wife is no leader, Kerry says she's a freaking dictator. A tactical mistake in my opinion, makes him sound like he's controlled and that she is extreme.

The attack ad discussed I haven't seen, but certainly sounds disgusting-

the Kerry campaign unleashed its latest attack ad, in which entertainer Janet Jackson?s right breast ?morphs? into the smiling face of President Bush.

Over a freeze-frame image of the President, a narrator intones, ?Isn?t it time to expose THIS boob??

After facing heavy criticism for the undignified tone of the commercial, Mr. Kerry defended the ad, saying that it had been approved ?by a foreign leader.?

Y'all are so desperate for mud you don't even stop to look at what's right in front of you. Putting on an "attack ad" featuring Janet Jackson is like "Springtime for Hitler" in the Producers!

How many people thought this was real? (IOW, how many needed Dave to point out that it wasn't real)

anything here from his thinking that Roger thought it was serious and real. Dave skimmed so fast he didn't even see that Roger had already acknowledged that it (the article) was TIC in his subject line.

Actually Ed, I'll confess

I didn't even stop to think. I do plead that am a bit off in sleep pattern this week. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

The tongue in cheek yes to the rebuttal part, but then I slipped. The part about his wife sounded so much like something a candidate might say jokingly to avoid an answer that I bought it.

Actually the boob ad seemed unlikely. The first part sounded quite pausible, so I swallowed the bait I guess.

No need to lie, I make mistakes all too often to try to cover them up.

It was clearly satire. To be accurate
Mar 17, 2004 3:14AM PST

they would need to use Dolly Parton instead of Janet Jackson to illustrate how big a boob bush is.

Wink

Well if they used Dolly it would be a lot (a LOT) more entertaining.

Q: What's worse than a giraffe with a sore throat?
A: Dolly Parton with a chest cold.

LOL, told you my sleep been disrupted. I read the link
Mar 17, 2004 2:46PM PST

and didn't look at the rest of the site. But even that should have clued me in I admit.

BUT with all the bull from both sides right now, NOTHING would surprise me. But that is a bit obvious.

OH well, gotta goof once in a while.

Hmnmm but object to being classified as so desperate for mud. I've tried to stop a bit short of that myself, at least I thought I had.

PS, this is why I normally save a link for posts when I disagree
Mar 17, 2004 3:10PM PST

and respond a day later, it actually lets me think, and cool off. I goofed.

Or if something that ticks me off, 2 or 3 days later normally. And the article linked to in the initial post definately ticked me off. My first reply made that clear I guess. And as I read that evening, I guess I boiled to the point I was ready to believe anyone said anything about whoever.

Politics and politicians, it's a shame we need either.
