Question

The Fan speed on my HP desktop is to fast.

Jul 22, 2014 3:48AM PDT

I ran a Health Analysis on my windows 7 Hp desktop. The Hp support assistant said I need to upgrade the bios and not knowing that much about computers I did. Now the fan runs way to fast, it doesn't do it all the time but goes on and off expect when I play games and they are on facebook and big fish games then the fan runs constantly. I have cleaned out my computer and that didn't help. I called HP and they said not to worry it wouldn't hurt my computer. I am still worried and don't what to do. I thought about resetting the fan speed but I don't know how and don't want to go into that unless it is necessary. Can anyone tell me if it is OK for the fans to run like this, if not can you please tell me what to do. Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

I've heard such before but the fan speed is set by demand for cooling. As time passes most folk learn to clean the vents and more with canned air but the new owners ask "What is canned air."

So if the BIOS and settings are stock, it's likely running as it should given demand for cooling.
