The "Dilbert Principle" in action

I read the book some time ago and review it now and then as it has alot of funny stuff. Anyways, a real Dilbert moment came when a friend asked me if an used Dell system was worth the asking price. He had the original shipping invoice provided by seller and I used the service tag# to get what was sold on it. Overall, it was OK. But the Dilbert moment came when I noticed a line item which has also the item# attached as other items were installed per part of the order.

Item# thank you for buying Dell

would there be a charge line for affixing the sticker and and another for saying "Thank You"? I love going to these sites and seeing the "starting from" price and then what it takes to get it to ship. I also like how they recommend options and features to get it to run properly and have reasonable life expectancy. Suddenly $399 becomes 800 bucks! Happy

There was no actual cost listing(s/h listing within shipment). These are line items per order, of course it would cost x-dollars for the finished product. I thought that to have a line item to mention, Thank You not on par with a real Thank You sorta thing. If anything have it posted more up front as a "real thank you". Think about it, it becomes something like as an after thought. It rubs me the wrong way to have it placed in such a manner. -----Willy Happy
