The color display on my computer

my computer's video display is set at 16 color and i can't change it.its options are just 16 color and 2 color,and i want to set it at ,at about 16 bits or 256 color but it won't let me.

I had the same problem with my computer display options. I also had only the largest icons. I re-installed my video drivers and that fixed it. I had an application recovery CD that come with my computer and went into that and re-installed all the video drivers.

this normally happens when you haven't told Windows what type of monitor you have after installing new video drivers. you need to go into Display Properties and change the monitor type.
