I've had a Yahoo geocities website up forever and while I have spam at Yahoo it's not a problem.
To be honest, at the moment, SPAM is a given on the internet and we should not have to stop really good tech to be stopped. Sure they could have changed the URL structure but c'mon if I were to post my email address in thos forum, I would get spam just as easily.
For once I'm gonna say, nice to see google doing something kinda nice!
