General discussion

The best of both worlds

While traveling, I want a laptop that I can play music, games, Blu-ray movies (I don't want an external dvd drive), do office stuff like emails, spreadsheets, etc., has great battery life and is small and light so I can easily carry it. A 13" display is fine, and something weighing much less that 4lbs. When not traveling, I want all the expansion ports to attach LCD monitor, full wireless keyboard and mouse, external HD, etc. (having all the benefits of a desktop). It seems to me that no such animal exists - falling somewhere between a netbook, ultraportable, and full featured laptop. Does anyone have ideas of currently available or maybe soon to be released laptops that can fit the bill?
