It's "false" in that the interview never happened, but it's "true" in that it makes a lot of sense.

If you think it really exemplifies how "gun haters" think or behave, perhaps you can find a link to a real interview in which the interviewer asked questions like the ones in the bogus story.
She: If i was you wife, I'd poison you.
He: If I was your husband, I'd drink it.

That story has never aired on NPR and in checking with the Pentagon, we were told they have no record of a "General Reinwald" ever having served in any branch of the armed forces.
