I ordered one of the Sony DVD burners also it should be waiting for me when I get home ( I hope so I can use it this weekend) I have some movies on my Dish DVR that I want to keep. I was going to try it and then post the results.
Radio Shack has a 1 input 4 out video DA that does s-video and audio for about $40. John
I still will be using my PC for serious video capture/editing, but I couldn't resist the new Sony DVDirect stand-alone unit, that has the option of also being an external USB 2.0 device. It has the ability to set chapters at various predetermined intervals, plus a pause button for editing commercials on-the-fly while recording. Sweet! Too bad I already purchased the DRU-720a burner for my PC last year...oh well!
My question is, will the SVHS capture quality suffer if I run it through my receiver from TIVO SVHS out and take the SVHS out on my receiver to record to the Sony SVHS in? This way I can get multiple SVHS outputs for other TV's. Thanks!
BTW, Pinnacle capture w/ my ATI breakout box and Ulead Movie Factory 3 software was the only setup that gave me good results, so did going direct-to-disc with Nerovision Express 3.
