I'd try this in Google Docs too.

My husband writes on his iPad using Textilus, then emails it to me for editing in Word. Most of the time it works, but every so often, all his commands (like indent, tab, etc) show up in my copy, making it very hard to read.
He sends it to be Word document attachment, but when this happens, it isn't word, but something called ATTO1838.txt. He sent the same document to his newspaper and it came out fine.
Is this some setting in his iPad or my word? It only happens about one out of 5 or 6 documents sent.

If he sends a .txt file, it's not a Word-document. So maybe he's doing something wrong, or there's a bug in that app.
Did you know MS Word for iPad is free? He won't have these problems if he uses that. https://itunes.apple.com/app/microsoft-word/id586447913?mt=8 tells about it.

I usually track my posts but somehow forgot to do this one, so was very happy to check and find all these answers.
Didn't know that Word was free for iPad. Yippee!! I've downloaded it to his iPad and now I'm trying to figure out how to change the default fonts, indents, etc. When I do, I think he'll be all set.
As always, thanks everyone for your help.
