Texas Voting Machines flawed.

Voting machine issues. This just in:
http://www.kut.org/post/hey-texans-if-youre-voting-straight-ticket-machine-check-your-ballot

"Hey, Texans! If You're Voting Straight Ticket On A Machine, Check Your Ballot.

The Texas Civil Rights Project said it has heard about issues with the Hart eSlate machines, which are used in Travis County and many other counties.

"We’ve been hearing reports of voters who go to the booths, they try to vote straight ticket and then the next screen they see it appears that their vote has been selected for a candidate of the opposing party,” said James Slattery, a senior staff attorney with the Texas Civil Rights Project."

Thanks for the link.

You've noticed the full article is more nuanced, as it should be.
The keyboarding problem the voting people proposed is something I've experienced over the decades on PCs, so I can believe it.
'Eternal vigilance is the price of voting.'

Did you notice how old their machines are? "Turn of the century", which stopped me cold until I saw they meant ... 18 years! Rob, we've lived too long! Happy

in the computer age. I can't tell you how many times over the years, as I've been on the phone helping my sister work through a problem with her computer....ME: right click and choose XYZ from the menu that comes up...….literally one second later....HER: I did that and nothing happens.....two seconds later....HER: Oh, wait, I see it now.

With all of the hacking

that has become commonplace, it scares hell out of me to know that there are States that allow email voting now.....and Alaska ONLY has USPS mail in voting where there is easily the ability to slant the elections by votes 'disappearing' and no guarantee that your vote even arrived or got counted/marked correctly by biased workers. If it's to the point where people today don't trust the judicial system, how can they completely trust the ballot count anymore?

Any practice that can be abused will be abused

In a past election here, college students here were offered a free rock music performance (B. Springsteen) along with a pitch for a presidential candidate. Once that was over, they were offered a free bus ride (snacks included) to and from our early voting place where they could both register to vote and cast ballots at the same time. But, I'm sure they could not (legally) be made to promise as to how they would vote. This was at our very large state university. Our local paper said 10000 students were in attendance and the line-up to vote took more than an hour and a half. One could call this practice either clever marketing or stealth bribery.

You are not the only one that is scared.....

Trump tweet

Twitter has removed many people from my account and, more importantly, they have seemingly done something that makes it much harder to join - they have stifled growth to a point where it is obvious to all. A few weeks ago it was a Rocket Ship, now it is a Blimp! Total Bias?

He assumes twitter removed them?

THEY didn't have the option to remove themselves from HIS account?

Perhaps HE made it more difficult for people to want to join?

Nobody loves him?

It's always the other guys fault?
