Im posting this to find out if there are any other telecommunications vendors out there that are familiar with testing Cat5. I keep running into the problem of having bad ports on the patch panels I am using. Instead of having to punch down a cable and jack to each individual port to test, I would like to find out how you can test a panel before installing. I just finished a job where 2 of my 48 port patch panels had bad ports on the panel side. Now I have to take the panel out and re-terminate a new panel. What a mess, especially after the equipment is installed on the rack. I want to test all panels on site before installing to cover my butt and avoid the extra labor of re-terminating. If anyone is familiar with this, please respond. Or if I am posting in the wrong area let me know. I am new to this forum. Thank you for taking the time and reading this.
