How do you know you're infected? nvcpl could refer to a file name or abbreviation, some legitimate and some illegitimate, so the actual name of the virus and what program detected it would be a good starting point.
Second, what exactly happened when you try to launch Norton 360 or the internet? Have you tried reinstalling 360 in case it's just corrupted or installing another browser in case Internet Explorer's just screwed up? If Norton is malfunctioning it could be locking down your internet access, so determining the problem there may be the key.
Finally, be sure to introduce a new security program while in safe mode, such as Avast or AVG, both of which are free. AVG Antispyware is also a good complementary addition, the combination of which may be able to find and remove whatever infection is plaguing you.
Hope this helps,
John
It has been a while since i posted in CNET. Well I finally came over a problem I can't fixed! I had the virus nvcpl and I think I still do. Well after doing alot of safe-mode entering and stuff, my GUI is messed up. The virus is still there and is not allowing me to open Norton 360 or access the internet. I don't know what program that can help me
I was hoping someone could direct me to a program. Also this virus I guess is messing with rundll32.exe it seems 2 differnt rundll32 are supposed to run on startup, that is what msconfig showed me.
Thank You
