Question

Temprature issue

Sep 25, 2017 12:11AM PDT

Hello Everyone
I just finished building my pc but i have a problem
when i started my pc i went to the bios hardware monitor and i found out that the temprature of my cpu was 100 °C so i immediatley turned it off
now the only problem i have is that the processor cooling fan is not the one that came with the processor its one that i bought because i needed it to fit with the mother board the pc runs normally other than that i have no performance issue however i did not risk keeping it on for more than 3 minutes
i made sure there's thermal cream thing on the fan and i removed the old thermal cream on the processor from my older pc
below i will list my hardware

motherboard: MSI H110M PRO-VD- D3 Socket LGA 1151 Motherboard
processor: intel core i5 6500 @3.2ghz
Ram: x2 ddr3L 4 gb 1600Mhz
Gpu: GeForce® GTX 1050 Ti G1 Gaming 4G
computer case: cooler master 352 with coolr master psu @ 500 W
Sorry if i there are some missing infromation im Not an expert whatsoever and thanks in advance

You don't put thermal paste on the fan.

Are you saying you removed the thermal paste from the old cpu and reused it on the new cpu?

Is the hsf attached proper?
Is the fan running?
