Temporary internet files

by Diana Forum moderator / October 22, 2003 12:52 AM PDT

While I was going into the temporary internet files to clean it up, I did a properties on it and it said that it had 388 mb and 33 folders. What was visible was a few files and no folders. How do I see the rest so I can clean it up?

This is c:/documents and settings/diana/local settings/temporary internet folders

I have it set up to show all folders and files even hidden ones.

Try doing a Disc Cleanup and it should clear all TIF.

Did a disc cleanup and am down to 48 mb and 33 folders. Still don't see any folders and all that I see are a bunch of cookies.

TIF can all be deleted.
Try getting into the folder and do a Ctrl+A then hit Delete and see if that works.

Not in the Cookies Folder!

I'm not seeing any folders, just cookies directly from Temporary internet files. Properties says that there are 33 folders but I don't see any of them.

Try going to the Control Panel and open the Folder Options. Click on View and make sure the Show Hidden Files and Folders is selected. If not, change it.
Then check to see if that helped.

Diana, Open Internet Explorer/Tools/Internet Options/General tab, click the Delete Files button and when the pop-up window appears checkmark "delete all offline content", click OK. This should get rid of them.
