Question

Teen Time on Phone Monitoring

Apr 27, 2018 7:24AM PDT

Hey guys -

Does anyone know of a way to monitor the amount of time someone is on a phone? We cap our teens data and can monitor that way and we have house rules on phone use, but I wonder if there is a way to tell the amount of time the phone is active?

Thanks!

Answer
This varies with the carrier.

My carrier today is ting.com and on it's web portal I can see reports about minutes, text messages and data (numbers for all.)

So yes, this is possible so ask your carrier where the reports are.

Hi beegee69! Guess you can set alerts up, but it’s not sure that your carrier offers the service. Visit them and together they might provide you with alternative solutions!? These days I simply keep an eye on them and take the phones away from them after one hour or so!

All depends on the plan/carrier

Not as easy with a prepaid carrier but easily determined on most postpaid plans. If you have postpaid, you should get a monthly breakdown of usage (time of use, date/time, #'s called) on each phone and total usage for all phones but on prepaid it may cost additional to see the same information. Ask you carrier.
