Sorry, I forgot about

David's post on the same subject.

Boy, Kerry is really making you sweat, isn't he!
Mar 1, 2004 12:10AM PST

With the latest polls showing both Kerry and Edwards defeating Bush, I guess I can understand why.

I would worry more about Edwards as the nominee than Kerry.(nt)

That's one train of thought ...
Mar 1, 2004 9:15PM PST

... but the other is that if Edwards can't even beat Kerry in the South today, his chances of even being picked as Veep are narrowing. Edwards has a lot of baggage for someone with such a short career. Check out Bob Novack's most recent column about Edward's one-man corporation deal (I'ld give a link but my browser doesn't seem to want to access townhall right now!). Sounds legal and all, but doesn't jive one bit with his man-of-the-people, I was born in a small town rhetoric.

Yes, but Southerners will vote for someone just because he's from The South.

Not at all, Josh...
Mar 1, 2004 12:59AM PST

Not at all, Josh, remember the California polls about Grey Davis.
When the becomes Kerry vs. Bush, Kerry will have to start saying what he would do if elected. Then is when it'll start getting lively.
BTW, where is Bill Clinton? I wonder when he's going to surface in public andstart to "help" Kerry.

I think he should.

Saturday Night Live would get some new material.

I bet you won't see Dan Quayle doing much stumping for Bush either
Mar 1, 2004 4:40AM PST

But of course Saturday Night Live could really, REALLY use some new material so maybe he should.

Dan Quayle was never a party nominee for Prez, and Gore was, just this past election.
Mar 1, 2004 5:14AM PST

Anyway, if you go back to Quayle that is 12 years ago and out of touch with some of the younger voters who would have been 6 at the time.

- Collapse -
That's only because when Quayle ran in 2000, around eleven people voted for him
Mar 1, 2004 5:45AM PST

He still spent four years as Vice President; you'd think he'd be someone the current Republican nominee would want in his camp, no?

Gore got a LOT more votes than Dan Quayle did in the last campaign. Come to think of it, he got more votes than George W. Bush too.

NT_ If so, then southern votes counted for more, yuk, yuk! :^)

The dynamic duo.
Mar 1, 2004 8:32AM PST

With those two on board, the Republicans should cruise to victory. If Clinton gets involved, we'ld have the Fearsome Threesome.
