I want to keep my old Toshiba Tecra 750CDM as my home back-up computer. Worked flawlessly on Win95 with all upgrades installed. However, I wanted functionality with the USB 1.0 ports---my Win95 version supported its use, but NOBODY made device drivers for that OS. So, I finally took the plunge with a Win98SE upgrade. All went well (took out the old IR drivers that are known to cause problems) and my memory sticks and other USB devices worked as I had hoped. THEN IT HAPPENED: As the mouse pointer moves, so does the screen. I get garbled colors below the original screen picture and as I move across the screen, the picture repeats itself. Of course there is no longer Win98 support; I found some references to S3 video driver conflicts suggested on a Toshiba site. Any ideas?
Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly
Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
