Teck Tracker updates

Dec 10, 2009 12:37AM PST

How long does it take tracker to update list of programs after downloads are installed????

Subject updates have been completed yet no changes to the reporting!!!!

Object Dock
Keepass Password Safe
Team Viewer
Cnet Tech Tracker App

Also why are there two listing on the web page for Tech Tracker...One in the login toolbar and the other is the new toolbar next to the status toolbar????

Some of these question have been asked before but never answered...Why????

Thanks

Immediately...

TechTracker works by looking for key application signatures, which change as soon as the application update modifies them. Thus, a fresh scan after the updates should immediately reflect the changes. If not, the application is not removing the files/registry entries that TechTracker uses as the version signature. In such a case, the signature may need to be updated by the TechTracker team.

Hope this helps,
John

Hi Ray,

We just released a new version of the CNET TechTracker application, and also noticed the problem you describe here. We were able to fix it this afternoon. Please run another TechTracker scan, you should no longer see CNET TechTracker reported as out of date.

We have also reproduced the problem with Object Dock, and are working on it. In the meanwhile, the best thing you can do is visit your custom TechTracker page (www.cnet.com/techtracker/app) and click on the "Feedback" link next to each of these three applications. File a "wrong version displayed" report for each of them and submit them to to our catalog team. We will work with that team to see what is happening here.

I do not have an immediate answer about the TechTracker 'listings' you mention, but someone from our technical support team will contact you tomorrow through our ticketing system. Just as a reminder, the way to request technical assistance with CNET TechTracker (especially now that this Windows version is out of Beta) is to file a support ticket.
