Techtracker says updated software has update

Feb 2, 2011 5:05AM PST

I recently updated EASUS Todo Backup Home to 2.0.2 through Tech Tracker. Since then Tech Tracker keeps saying it has an update but it is still 2.0.2. Easus has 2.0 on the start screen but help>about us says it is 2.0.2. Can anyone shed any light on this other than hiding the offer? I have already had to hide Canoscan toolbox 5.0.1.2a as that is not for my LiDe30 scanner!

Do you have a "skip" option?
Feb 2, 2011 3:02PM PST

I cannot remember if this is only available in TechTracker Plus or is a standard (free) feature, but your best option is to click the Skip button that's under the Hide button on the TechTracker listing page. That will hide the update, but let it show up again when the next version comes out.

Possible causes of the issue:
1.) You have not run a full update scan since installing the update; try running a full update scan.
2.) TechTracker is detecting remnants of 2.0 instead of 2.0.2; you can report the mistake via your TechTracker page.

Think carefully before download

Dear John, Yes I have a skip button and have done as you advised.
There are remnants of Todo left, The program folders in program files. I deleted these after removing the program and ran Glary Utilities registry cleaner, There must be some remnants somewhere else perhaps. I shall pass this on to Easus

Think carefuly before downloading updates

Dear John, I have had a reply from Easeus Todo Backup Home saying to ignore Tech Tracker's update prompt for now, which we already figured, thanking me for my input and saying. "They will look into the matter for their next version release"; A positive outcome for Todo. If only Canon would be inclined to admit some interest in fixing their Toolbox 5.0.1.2a download problem, I still await a sensible reply and look forward to imparting the answer on that thread.
I guess this thread is now closed. I Thank you for your help.
Regards John
