Technics SA 8100x Setup

I'm trying to get the kinks worked out in setting up the
old Technics I bought yesterday. I've installed the CD input on
tape 2 and the XM radio on aux. but I can't get the phono to operate.
I've an old Onkyo CP 1010A that I can't get the sound out of.
It was working with my old Sanyo amp.

On the back of the Technics is either Mag or Semi-conductor inputs for the Turntable and a switch for either. In ideas? Thanks, Robert
