Technics DVD-A10. Repair or replace?

Jul 28, 2009 11:32PM PDT

I have had a Technics DVD-A10 since new and have started getting "No Disc" errors from mostly rented DVDs. I tried a "disc cleaner" disc, but it never played even that. It spun the disc but only displayed "reading". I really like the player quality feel. It's a far cry from the cheapo plastic consumer DVD players on the market, and I don't have the money for a new "high end" player. I don't have an HD-TV so all the HD features of a new player would be a waste anyway (until I upgrade my TV). Would having the lens cleaned and aligned likely help?
Thanks!
