Technical Help - Zoom - Focus

Feb 4, 2006 10:30AM PST

I have a Sony Digital 8 Handycam 450x
Distant zoom focus is completely out of focus - fuzzy.
Close up is great, but when I zoom to nearly the farthest distance for a zoom, instead of the clear and "upclose" image I used to get, now I just get a blur and people look like ghosts in the picture. up to about 20 - 25 feet still gives clear pictures. anything beyond 50 feet is fuzzy.
This happens when I am using memory and just taking snaps. Have not attempted to zoom while using the movie feature since noticing the problem.
Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.
Intellispire.

If you are trying to get a clear picture at 450x digital zoom, it's not going to happen. Try turning off the digital zoom and just use the optical zoom. The digital zoom will degrade your picture.

probably needs service. However, as was noted, 450x should give you a terribly pixelated image. That said, you should have gotten the same pixelated image all along.

If it focuses OK with full optical zoom, don't worry about it. You can do digital zooms in software on the computer.
