Hello,
We're sorry to hear about the trouble you had here!
CNET TechTracker is a pretty non-invasive application - at its "worst" it just utilizes some of your system resources to process its scan. It does not alter your video and sound settings at all. What I would do is look to the other circumstances around the time that you installed CNET TechTracker.
Examples:
* Were you having a system or software issue before uninstalling TechTracker?
* Did you install any updates from TechTracker? If so, what did you update, and could this be affecting your sound or video?
* Were there other installations or updates involved at your last reboot, such as Microsoft system updates or something relating to your drivers?
We would be happy to discuss this more - to contact our technical support team, please open a support ticket here: http://cnet.custhelp.com
(Select "CNET TechTracker" from the "Category" list.)
Regards,
CNET TechTracker
I have an ibm thinkpad, running xp. I installed tech tracker and only used a short time as it kept telling me that the same things needed updating. I uninstalled tech tracker as it was a pain. Since uninstall, my laptop is not working. I have no sound and the laptop keeps going off, telling me the video driver is not working. I really believe it was tech tracker that has damaged it. My laptop shut down when I uninstalled tech tracker and has not worked since. I can turn it on and run it for a minute then it just turns off.
