Premium(paid for) support is optional service which you do not need to use in case that you need help with AVG.
Phone and chat support options are available without any additional fees to all AVG customers as long as your license is valid.
We are also ready to help you on these forums.
It is possible that answer for chat support request may be delayed due to higher than normal volume of support requests.

I just went to the support site at AVG, second time. Chat not available (both times) and tech support is $50. OUCH! AVG operates in the background on my PC with no pesky pop-ups and very little lag, and this is the first AV SW I've had that does that. But they don't give support to the customers? My current license runs out soon; I am not sure whether to switch to a supported AV SW or not. Windows Live, had it, very painful. Norton, same. McAfee, same. Suggestions?
