I PURCHASED THE SAME MODEL LAST YEAR AND HAVE ENJOYED A WONDERFUL FOOTBALL SEASON WITH IT.IF YOUR GETTING THIS IMAGE ''NOISE'' ONLY FROM YOUR BROADCAST TV SOURCE, THEN IT WOULD MAKE SENSE THAT THE PROBLEM LIES THERE. MY UNIT HAS WORK WELL FROM THE START WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE SLIGHTLY MODERATE FAN NOISE. DO A FORUM SEARCH, YOU WILL FIND MORE THEN A FEW COMPLAINTS WITH TW(TIME WARNER) CABLE. SINCE THE UNIT WAS PURCHASED AT COSTCO AND CAN BE RETURNED VIRTUALLY ANYTIME, I WOULD CHECK THE CABLE FIRST ESPECIALLY IF YOU'VE HAD SIGNAL STRENGHT PROBLEMS IN THE PAST. MOST CABLE COMPANIES WILL COME OUT AND CHECK THE CONDITIONS OF EXTERIOR LINES AND CONNECTIONS, FREE OF CHARGE. BAD LINES OR CONNECTORS CAN ONLY CONTRIBUTE TO MAKE A WEAK SIGNAL WORST.
We purchased a Vizio P50 HDM from Costco's Friday & are totally thrilled with it. (Race on Sunday was better visually than my tickets in July can provide live!) We are on TW cable & have a S.A. 8300HD DVR & are using the component cables provided by TW. I have taken everyone's advise & not "wasted" my money on HDMI cables. But I am getting some type of interference on the digital channels. I don't know what you call it - digital noise or motion noise or what. We will get a little mosaic across the screen & some noise like static or stuttering, sometimes more often than others. I already have a booster on my cable line from TW due to poor signal strength when we went digital last year. I'm assuming this is a cable problem & not a TV problem, whatever you call it. There is a Motion Noise Reduction setting & a Digital Noise Reduction setting in the menu. The manual does not explain anything about these settings other than how to adjust them. Can someone shed some light on this issue? Thanks!!!
