Question

Teamviewer doesn't connect me with the partner.

Sep 14, 2015 2:22PM PDT

Hello there,

I have problems using Teamviewer to have remote access to my parents PC.

I have a mac and they have a PC with Windows 7. The connection 'to the partner' doesn't go through because it says their version of Teamviewer is newer than mine. But mine is the latest too! They were downloaded at the same time! I tried to update it anyway but it's been useless. Where is the problem then?

Thanks

You forgot to mention two small, but relevant, details:
- what's the version of Teamviewer on your Mac?
- what's the version of Teamviewer on your parents PC?

the first available in the download section

Going on the Teamviewer website, we downloaded each the mac version for myself and the Windows version for them. The first available in the download section.

Since that can change without notice.

Try telling what versions are in play here.

I'd post in the Teamviewer forum.

There are many reasons for this from the firewall in the router, the antivirus, and such.
Since the router is a natural firewall, turning on the router firewall seems to be a fine way to break things.

Router firewall?

Router firewall? I don't think there is any router firewall. The antivirus they use is Avast.

Since I don't see router make/model/version

I will try again

If that is the case, why does it blame the fact that the two computers have different versions? I will stop avast for a moment and try again.

call parents, have them right clk AVAST

When asked for versions you gave an answer that can change without notice. Next time, just tell.
