TaxCut - Deluxe or Premium? . . . Deduction Pro?

by katy_bug / February 1, 2006 11:07 PM PST

I am in the process of getting ready to do my taxes and I have used TaxCut in the past. This year I moved so I will need to deduct moving expenses. Is it worth it to get Premium to help with moving expense deductions, especially because that would be the only thing that Premium would offer that I would need. I also donated some stuff to charity during the move, so would Deduction Pro be worth it because reviews make it seem like it is more trouble than it is worth.
Thanks - Kate

I've used Tax Premium for 2 years....
by R. Proffitt Forum moderator / February 1, 2006 11:13 PM PST

This will be year 3. It's simplified the work I had to do immensely. I bought it again this year.

But, I don't have the moving expenses so I can't comment about that. I did have stock sales and it did those with ease.

I don't own a home or have stock . . . I would only need Premium for my moving expenses. Any idea about DeductionPro?

But the difference in price was 10 bucks here. For me, it's worth it.

I didn't use deduction pro.

Deduction Pro

I really like Deduction Pro. We donate a lot of items to charity throughout the year. This program keeps tract of everything and automatically assigns values. In addition, it generates forms that can be sent to the IRS and/or the information can be imported into Taxcut. I find it a time saver and can save you from an audit.
