Taskbar/start button appearance

by gblueline / October 17, 2007 3:47 AM PDT

A few weeks ago I tweaked my system. (I think in an effort to increase speed.) One of the changes I made was to make the taskbar/start button simpler graphically. It is currently kind of a grayish-brown like the Firefox browser window. Now I'm wanting to return to the blue XP bar and button, but I cannot remember how I got where I am so that I can go back. Any help?

Thanks.

Nah...

The Windows 9x look is better anyway. Wink

Try right-clicking the desktop, select Properties, choose the Appearance tab, and select "Windows XP style" from the first drop-down menu. Additional work may be necessary depending on the tweak used, but OK your way out and you should be good to go.

Hope this helps,
John

No Can Do . . .

Right click on desktop --->Properties--->Appearance only gives the one choice of "Windows Classic style" under the the Windows and buttons: drop down.

Whatever tweak I did removed the "Windows XP style" choice.

Thoughts, John? Fixes, anyone?

gblueline, Go to the link below and under the letter "T" scroll down to "Themes (Won't Load or only Windows Classic is listed)" where you'll find several possible fixes.
