When I put my computer to "sleep" for a long period time, why does the taskbar freeze and I have to hit the Window button a few times to bring up the start menu and it will hide the taskbar???

Sleep and such showed up about then and when a PC comes back from sleep it may be a while for everything (apps and OS) to become ready.
About the only system I don't see this happen is on my iPad and Google Nexus tablets.
you are right. It can be very frustrating that at times, I have to restart the computer.
That stops and restarts just a little of the entire system.
