Sam, It's Not A Good Idea To....
Dec 22, 2004 7:24AM PST

...list your e-mail address on these forums. You never know who might be watching. In addition, it's better to respond back to the forums instead of using e-mail. Other folks have similar problems and want to see the solutions to their problems that might be the same.

That said, please give us more information about your computer, such as the operating system, etc. and the problem. Is the taskbar to far below the edge of the screen or is is something else? The more information you give, then better informed our answer will be.

In the meantime, is your lower taskbard set to "autohide"? If so, undo it by RIGHT clicking on the taskbar, UNCHECK "Lock Taskbar", then RIGHT click again on the taskbar, choose "Properties". When that loads, UNCHECK the box next to "Autohide the taskbar". If you made changes, click on "Apply", then OK.

Have you changed the monitor's screen location by using the buttons or wheels on the monitor. Much like a television, you can adjust the location of the screen by using those buttons to make the screen smaller, bigger, move it up or down or sidewise, so that it fits correctly inside the monitor borders. Does that help things.

If it still doesn't appear well, can you "drag" the taskbar so it's wider. With the taskbar "unlocked", move your mouse to the edge of the taskbar till the cursor changes to "double arrows", then hold down the left mouse key and drag it up so the taskbar becomes wider.

Hope this helps and let us know more.

Sam, If you're using Windows XP try this
Dec 22, 2004 8:04AM PST

Sam go to the link below and under the letter "T" scroll down to "Taskbar" then download the "Minimized Programs Missing" .vbs file.

"To use the VBS Files: Download .vbs file and save it to your hard drive (you may want to right click and use Save Target As). Double click the vbs file. You will be prompted when the script is done.

NOTE: If your anti-virus software warns you of a "malicious" script, this is normal if you have "Script Safe" or similar technology enabled. These scripts are not malicious, but they do make changes to the System Registry".
The downloads from this site are safe and it's probably the best Windows XP site on the Internet in my opinion.
